sound&design is aimed to design and build audio products that are inspired by the cultural and formal tradition of the Organic Architecture that includes Frank Lloyd Wright, Alvar Aalto and Bruno Zevi among its exponents.

We do seek harmony between Man and the loudspeaker that in this case cannot be regarded as an usual hi-tech device.

sound&design products are more comparable to musical instruments by lute-making than hi-tech stuff and they are build with the same approach. Their construction requires great handedness and craftsmanship. Over 90% of production times is attributable to manual activities not suitable for automation.

This does not mean we apply the most modern technology as support to the achievement of our objectives. We have developed sophisticated software tools in order to simulate and get an acoustic response that shapes and usual symmetries cannot achieve. We use high precision CNCs for making semi-finished parts that will be expertly assembled and finished by our cabinetmakers. Let the use of plastic materials and in particular the acrylic for its aesthetic and functional quality. We employ advanced electroacoustic measurement systems to optimize the overall final response and ensure a high quality standard.
